It's not the name I'd have chose for it, but it is what it is... The Diary is a very nifty feature in PToF. Here, every player has a diary, and everyone can see each other's diary. The Diary shows the following information: Your Game Name; The Date You Started Tides of Fortune; Your level; Your Haven Name; Your Coordinates; Your Brotherhood; Your Rank; Your Offensive Ranking Score; Your Raid Ranking Score; Your Defensive Ranking Score; Your Prize Ranking Score; The Medals you have Achieved thus far; Your Infamy Badge. |
If you understand each of these things well, you can really read into someone's stats and come to some conclusions about the player. For example: My stats suggest that I am very active, and that I'm both an DEF & OFF player. If my raid ranking score was in the negative, it would suggest I am inactive. Anytime you see a negative raid ranking, it suggests inactivity, or perhaps that the account is someone's "Alternative Account". It's usually safe to raid those with negative raid ranking scores, especially if their Infamy Badge is just something small. Infamy Badges are an indicator of how often a player logs in. If my DEF score was only 1.2k, it would suggest I am not a DEF player, which would suggest to others that I may be a relatively easy target. It is always worth a peek into someones Diary before deciding to make battle with them.
The Deeds Most Fowle is where you earn medals for the various things in the game. How long does it take to earn them all? That depends on your activity level, your dedication to earning the medals, and for some of them, how much money you spend on the game. It feels good to earn a level 5 medal, hell it feels good to earn any level medal. Earning a new medal, no matter the level, means progression. Progression is good!
You can compete in the weekly competitions to achieve your Pirate Legend medals. Personally, I find the Blockades easiest to accomplish most weeks. Keep a look-out on the Fame because that's where the weekly competitions are at, as well as our overall scores. There's so much you can view on the Fame board! The Fame board is organized into 3 interchangeable sections which show you the top 100 players in each category, as well as where you are in the ranks no matter where you are in the ranks, as long as you are top 1000. The Team Armageddon Coalition ALWAYS has top 100 players make the weeklies. Check us out! :) The first section is called the "Ranking Category", which includes: Brotherhoods, Offense, Defense, Blockades, Ransom/Tribute, Raids, Missions, and Wars. |
The second section to choose from is the "Ranking Period" which shows the time-period for the "Ranking Category you've chosen. The Ranking Periods are: Pirates o' Legend, Present Station, and Scourges of the week. Pirates o' Legend shows the top 100 of the Ranking Category you've chosen, based on their total score for that category since they opened their account. Present Station shows the top 100 of the Ranking category you've chosen, based on their total score for the week, which begins very early on Mondays, if I am not mistaken, scourges of the week shows the top 100 of the Ranking Category you've chosen, based their total score for the previous week.
The third category allows you to focus your scores against your Hearties and your Brotherhood. It's worth looking at.
The Brotherhood ranks are based on the total of each Brotherhood's influence points. (This is why earning Brotherhood Achievements and holding Presidios is important.) The Offense is based on Offensive Ranking Points, which are earned in battle. The Defense is based on Defensive Ranking Points, which are also earned in battle. I often lump both of those together to see the combined battle scores. It strikes me as odd that the game doesn't track that in Fame.
The Blockades are based on Blockade Points earned by Blockading other havens, and the Ransom (sometimes called Tribute, depending on which English you have selected for gameplay, American or British) is based on how much resources you've managed to get from other haven's while having their haven's Blockaded.
The Raids are based on Raid Ranking Points, which are earned by raiding other havens, whether they be other players, or bot-havens.
The Missions are based on Prize Points, earned from taking your chances in "playing the Prizes", within the Lighthouse. The Wars will show you the War Score boards.
